Updated 8 a.m. PT: TMZ reports that?Young was standing near the entrance of the Governors Ball, taking pictures with friends when security guards realized she didn't have a ticket so they asked her to leave.?Young reportedly came?back a short time later?and when security asked her to leave again she allegdly slapped a guard who "may have placed his hand on her arm." TMZ has new video of Young leaving a Hollywood police station in which she criticizes the actions of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Original story: Los Angeles police say actress Sean Young was placed under citizen's arrest after a fight at the post-Oscars Governor's Ball, according to The Associated Press.
TMZ reports that the?52-year-old "Blade Runner" star got into a dispute with a security guard and was arrested at 9:25 p.m. Sunday. She was booked at the Hollywood police station for investigation of misdemeanor battery. City News Service says she posted $20,000 bail and was released early Monday.
Police Sgt. Enrique Mendoza confirmed the arrest but wouldn't give details about the incident or the alleged victim.
TMZ reports that Young was seen leaving the police station early Monday morning and said?she was waiting with friends to enter the Governor's Ball when an Oscar official suggested security make a citizen's arrest. She made no mention of any physical encounter with a security guard, the website reports.
The Governor's Ball is the official Oscar party and is held above the awards show's venue, the Hollywood & Highland Theatre. Young's movie credits also include "Stripes" and "No Way Out."
A voicemail message left early Monday for Academy of Motion Arts and Sciences spokeswoman Tara Curtis wasn't immediately returned.
